A unique mid-century modern home from the same architect who built the famed Rothman House in St. Petersburg is now on the market. Located at 8221 24th Ave N, the home was built in 1956 by Martin P. Fishback, Jr., who designed the property to fit the natural tree-filled lot.
Currently asking $699,500, the home arguably needs a few updates, but it does come with original "St. Joe" bricks, which were purchased from the city when they repaved the streets. The home still maintains some original appliances, like the drop-down stove, the cypress flitches, and ceiling beams that were once part of the Knight & Wall building supply store from 1884.
Many of the styles Fishback used in this house were later incorporated into the Rothman residence, which was built a few years later and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.
