Are you suited for life under the dome?
In a lot of ways, geodesic dome homes are arguably perfect for Florida: They're energy efficient, they can withstand extreme temperatures and they're designed to hold-up up to significant hurricane-force winds. They're also pretty rare, and right now one of the few in the Tampa Bay area is for sale.
Located at 6830 Collingswood Ct., in New Port Richey, this particular dome home was built in 1982, which is also around the time when dome home kits were popular. Today, contractors know better, and because of the enormous pain of finding materials to fit circular spaces, there aren't many left.
However., the 1,903-square-foot home seems well maintained, and comes with three bedrooms, and two bathrooms, as well as a pretty cool spiral staircase, tons of skylights and a four-car garage.
The blue dome is currently asking $370,000, and the listing agent is John Mamo of Keller Williams - Elite Partners.
