A Florida home that's absolutely loaded with dome is now for sale.
For the unfamiliar, dome homes are relatively rare. But here in Florida they reached their peak in the early to mid-'80s, and were sold as energy efficient dwellings that could withstand extreme temperatures, as well as earthquakes and hurricanes. Today, contractors prefer more square-like domiciles, so there aren't many left.
However, a pretty unique one is now on the market just outside of Gainesville.
Located at 2421 NW 182nd St., in Newberry, this 4,200-square-foot geodesic triple-dome home was built in 2009 and sits on a massive 5-acre lot. The home comes with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, renovated decks, a new tankless water heater, and, as you can see in the photos, a dome gym.
The triple-dome home is currently asking $449,707, and the listing agent is Craig Wilburn of Keller Williams Gainesville Realty Partners.
