After impressing Conway the Machine, Tampa rapper Mike Mass brings friends to Lowry Parcade on Friday

Tampa Bay already knows that Mike Mass is one of—in the words of De La Soul—the “Greatest MCs in the World.” Lately, he’s been showing everybody else what he’s got.

Take this past Sunday for instance. Mass gets a late-notice gig opening for Conway the Machine at Club Skye (photos from the evening, via @JPG_JACK, above). Not only does Mass kill his set, but then he freestyles in Conway’s ear and by the looks of Conway’s “damn-I-just-ate-something-real-good” facial expressions, he killed that as well. Mass said it best in the video, “If you want me to keep going, I’ll keep going.” Yes, Mike, we sure do. You’re unstoppable.

He brings the Wave Theory crew for a Friday night show outside of Lowry Parcade, with Ayam, Perf, G3thatguy, DJ DFaz, Jimbo Shrump, and Meho Drums performing. I can’t really think of a better way to spend a Friday night than listening to local hip-hop in between beating the high score on “Centipede” at the local craft beer bar arcade.

Mike Mass w/Ayam/Perf/G3thatguy/Jimbo Shrump/DJ DFAZ/more. Friday, April 16, 8 p.m. Free. Lowry Parcade, Tampa Lowry Parcade, Tampa.
