Derek Jeter just sold his Davis Islands mansion for a record $22.5 million

Yankees legend Derek Jeter has sold his giant compound on Davis Islands for $22.5 million, which is the largest residential real estate deal ever in the Tampa Bay region.

The property first went on the market last September for $29 million. As of now, the buyer has not been disclosed, and property records take a couple weeks to update. But it's safe to say the listing agents, Stephen Gay and Katie Glaser of Smith & Associates, are certainly celebrating.

"The Tampa Bay region had been quietly ramping up as a top city regarded for its high quality of life and fun-in-the-sun lifestyle, and then the Super Bowl came and the secret was out. A home's like Jeter shows an evolution of what is possible and what is to come as Tampa continues to attract attention and luxury buyers, said Gay.

The 22,000-square-foot walled-property is the "largest ever assembled waterfront property on Davis Islands,” and comes with seven bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, a wine cellar, in-home movie theater, gym, in-law suite and au-pair wing, outdoor kitchen and more.

The home, which is located at 58 Bahama Cir. in Tampa, made headlines last year after it was announced Tom Brady and his wife Gisele Bündchen were moving in for the season, and after the GOAT complained that people were boating up to his backyard.

Brady is signed with the Bucs for at least another season, so he'll have to find a new place to live.  Maybe he can bunk with Gronk?
