Right now a Bugatti Veyron, which has been referred to by critics as "the greatest supercar ever," will probably cost you upwards of $2 million, but if that's way out of your budget, you might want to consider a really good replica.
An unnamed Orlando resident is currently selling his custom 2012 Bugatti Veyron, but the only catch is that it's actually a 2002 Mercury Cougar XR7.
Listed at $125,000, the owner says the car cost $90,000 to build, and has so far won 17 awards for its authenticity. "So much detail has been put into this car," says the seller. "Its a beautiful car." On the outside, the car is pretty convincing, but it certainly won't handle the same as a Veyron with just a 170-hp stock V-6 engine from the Cougar, as opposed to the Bugatti's 1200-hp quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W-16.
But overall, the owner says the response to his car has been mostly good. "I have been sent the nicest texts messages ever, as well as uplifting," said the owner. "But some very weird and sickening."
