Tampa Bay Lightning captain and back-to-back Stanley Cup haver Steven Stamkos just sold his Davis Islands waterfront home.
As first reported by the Tampa Bay Business Journal, Stamkos and his wife Sandra closed on the deal Monday for a near-record $16 million.
According to property records, the buyers were Kathy and John Shields, who appear to have purchased the home in a cash deal. This now ranks as the biggest residential real estate transaction in Hillsborough County history, reports TBBJ.
The buyers' agent was Allan Mezrah of the Toni Everett Company.
Located at 78 Martinique Ave., Stamkos built the home on a lot that he purchased in 2017 for $3.85 million. The 4,851-square-foot home was completed a year later, and comes with five bedrooms and four-and-half bathrooms, as well as a pool and a dock.
Don't worry, Stamkos probably isn't going anywhere anytime soon, since his contract with the Bolts runs through 2024.
