Photos of Portland protesters facing off with federal storm troopers

Last week, Creative Loafing Tampa Bay photographer Dave Decker went on social media to send out a call  saying he felt compelled to document protesters bravely facing Trump’s federal police in Portland. Tampa’s Barely Legal Podcast saw the call and answered by buying him a plane ticket. Decker’s safely back home after three nights on the ground, but admittedly emotionally exhausted and worried about the president sending his cops to other American cities (Tampa Mayor Jane Castor said he shouldn’t send them to Tampa unless she asks). See Friday night photos out of the area near the Portland’s federal courthouse, and check back soon to see more from Saturday and Sunday. —Ray Roa
