A historic bungalow once owned by Norma Talmadge, one of the biggest silent film stars of the Roaring '20s, is back on the market in St. Pete Beach.
Built in 1927, the 1,838-square-foot home was used by Talmadge as a winter retreat towards the tail end of her career, and has changed hands quite a bit through the decades.
The Pass-A-Grille bungalow is located at 1805 Pass A Grille Way, and sits on a 5,819 square-foot lot along the channel. The home comes with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, as well as master and guest room private balconies, and a spacious deck area. Though the bungalow has witnessed some necessary upgrades over the years, it still has the original hardwood floors and fireplace.
The home is currently asking $1,299,000, and the listing agent is Brandon Tecklenburg of EXP Realty, LLC.
Talmadge was considered one of the biggest stars of the silent film era, but never successfully made the leap into "talkies." After a few critically panned films in the late 1920s, Talmadge eventually retired wealthy and spent most of her time out of the public eye at her Florida home, as well as another property in Las Vegas. After a long battle with arthritis and reported drug abuse, the famed actress died of pneumonia in 1957 at the age of 63.
Talmadge was later given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which is located at 1500 Vine St..
