Bright Ice

The popular St. Pete Bright Ice started scooping up ice cream bowls and cones in Pinellas Park February. With 15 flavors, the shop’s got some interesting ones like lemon with crystalized ginger, vegan options like blueberry with cinamon and classics like warm vanilla.

Burnt Ends

The same managers who brought you gooey and sweet monkey bread for breakfast at Datz and meatloaf at Dr. BBQ for dinner, started serving drinks at the Burnt Ends tiki bar in March. Talk about a three course meal! Spirit-directing expert Dean Hurst is running the drink program. Expect to see thatched roofs, like the tiki dream, and drinkware.

St. Pete’s historic Manhattan Casino lives on. It reopened as 22 South Food Hall in honor of former Tampa Bay Buccaneers/businessman Vincent Jackson’s vision. The food hall opened its doors in April, and it offers barbecue, Jamaican food, vegan favorites and more.

Caddy’s on Madeira Beach

Caddy’s on Madeira Beach is literally right on the beach, with a two-story bar, waterfront views and outdoor seating with picnic tables. The main restaurant is upstairs and opened in March. It's got barside classics like wings and lots of drinks.

DalMoros Fresh Pasta To Go

This fresh pasta express originated in Italy and is one of the first of its kind. The fast-casual environment has 100 different fresh pasta, homemade sauce and topping combinations. And yes, the pastas are homemade. DalMoros opened in May with a “pasta cutting.”

Edge Urban Market

Pop-up market Edge Urban Market opened on the 1100 block parking lot between 1st Ave. S and Central Ave in February. The St. Pete outdoor destination welcomes shops, live music, entertainment and local food.

Fado

At Fado, you need reservations because it’s quite the fad. Fado brings Portugal to St. Pete and is the sister concept to the Lisbon restaurant in Orlando. Menu options include bife na pedra, which is “steak on a stone,” sardinhas, along with other fish, and serradura. It opened in May.

Lingr

Celebrity chef Jeffrey Jew finally opened Lingr in downtown St. Pete earlier this month. The new upscale-casual eatery offers Nordic and Asian-inspired dishes like spicy chili shrimp dumplings, wok fried snapper with fermented black beans and spiced parsnip cake.

Mammamia Gelato

The worldwide gelato spot began in Naples, Italy and in March, Mammamia Gelato opened in St. Pete. After eating lunch or dinner at all the other new St. Pete restos, enjoy some handcrafted gelato and sorberts, or a gelato cake and pastry. The website says its local franchises aim to hire disabled and under-employed people and donate to local nonprofits.

Pin on Cafe

The Chelsea owner Teresa Vidal Chalkley said the coffee and tea shop combines the vibes of the Chelsea neighborhood in New York and the original Chelsea in London. It features BATDORF & BRONSON® Coffee, matcha, chai and local baked goods. The shop opened in May and focuses on sustainability.
