This South Tampa estate comes with Hugh Hefner’s bathroom door
A South Tampa home with a few Hollywood connections is now on the market in the Ballast Point area.
Located at 5225 S Nichol St, the home is one of the largest single-family homes in South Tampa, and was originally built in 1997 by local investor and Tampa Sports Authority board member John Jaeb.
The home was later sold to Steve Matzkin, who you may know as the Sarasota-based Dental Care Alliance founder, and the producer of such films as "The Man in the Chair," "Prisoner" and "Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession." Matzkin's wife, actress Sarah Schroeder-Matzkin, was recently in Aaron Sorkin's Netflix film "The Trial of Chicago 7."
The 12,305-square-foot home comes with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, it also features a crystal dining room chandelier originally from Paris, a custom bar, a library with a spiral staircase, a theater room, a pool, a guesthouse, and a bathroom door "from Hugh Hefner’s original Playboy Mansion in Chicago," says the listing.
The estate is currently asking $5,995,000, and the listing agent is Elizabeth Dundee-Guluzian of Pineywoods Realty.
