This Tampa Bay waterfront ‘tree house’ is now for sale in Oldsmar
A truly unique house with some serious Swiss Family Robinson vibes is now on the market in Oldsmar.
Located at 352 Shore Dr. E., this tree house-style home was built in 1986, and comes with three bedrooms, and four bathrooms. While not a literal tree house, the 2,781-square-foot house does have plenty of characteristics that warrant the label, like a giant wraparound front balcony overlooking the Bay, a third-floor crows nest, a pool, a gazebo and a dock with a boat lift.
While the home could use a few updates, arguably the best part is the massive waterfront lot, which has changed hands a few times over the years. Originally the lot was owned by the late Tig and Myrtle Hunt. Myrtle was a well-known, longtime teacher and public education ambassador in the Tampa Bay area. According to property records, the couple sold the lot in 1976 to Arnold F. Morris, the same guy who pleaded guilty of attempting to launder nearly a half-million dollars in 2005 after authorities found him hiding out in Honduras.
The property is now being sold for $899,900, and the listing agent Karen Wingard of Coldwell Banker.
